Over 39 years of operational service in the Indian Army at all levels, in command of units and formations employed in critical areas; retired as the Director General, Defence Intelligence Agency and Deputy Chief Integrated Defence Staff (Intelligence) dealing with national / international security issues besides leadership of large body of highly skilled technical manpower in the imagery, communication/signal intelligence and cyber domains. Experience in domain of strategising operational executive functions, operational logistics, HR, resource and financial management, training and development, safety management, coordination of high intensity operations and compliance management at National and International levels.
- Conferred the Award of Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card in 2008 as Chief Staff Officer for Operations in Andaman & Nicobar Command, Port Blair.
- Conferred the Award of C-in-C Commendation Card in 2008 as Chief Staff Officer for Operations in Andaman & Nicobar Command, Port Blair.
- Conferred the Award of Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card in 2009 as Brigadier Administration, 2 Corps.
- Conferred the Presidential Award of Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) on 26 Jan 2011 as General Officer Commanding, 31 Armoured Division, for outstanding military performance.
- Conferred the Presidential Award of Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) on 26 Jan 2014 as General Officer Commanding, 9 Corps, for outstanding military performance.
- Conferred the Presidential Award of Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) on 26 Jan 2015 as Director General, Defence Intelligence Agency and Deputy Chief Integrated Defence Staff (Intelligence), for outstanding contribution to service.
